NEW ALBANY– A longtime Annapolis Valley farmer is running for the Progressive Conservatives in the next provincial general election.
David Bowlby recently secured the party’s nomination as the candidate for the constituency of Annapolis.
“Annapolis Valley has always been my home. It’s where I grew up to be a fifth-generation farmer. It’s where my wife and I raised our family. It’s clear that after the last three plus years, Annapolis County has been missing a strong, effective voice in government,” said Bowlby. “I’m running to be the MLA for Annapolis to deliver positive results for this constituency and continue fixing what the Liberals broke as part of Premier Tim Houston’s PC Team.”
For the better part of three decades, Bowlby owned and operated a mixed farm, the fifth generation in his family to do so. He continues to work as a farm manager for Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada at the Agriculture Research Station in Kentville. He graduated from the Nova Scotia Agricultural College (now Dalhousie University) in 1987 and graduated from the Atlantic Agricultural Leadership Program in 2010. Bowlby and his wife are the parents of two adult sons.
“David Bowlby’s roots run deep in Annapolis. He understands what his constituents need, he listens, he works hard and he knows how to get things done,” said Premier Tim Houston. “I need David Bowlby as an MLA on my team so that we can build up Annapolis together and deliver the fair share of government attention to this constituency.”
Premier Tim Houston’s PC team has delivered record investments in health care, housing and infrastructure. The Houston PCs also provided tax relief, while at the same time fighting against the Liberal carbon tax.
